Custom DesignS

I love creating custom designs and am always happy to discuss your ideas, even in the early stages.

The Process:

  1. Contact me. Explain your idea. It can be vague or specific. Feel free to send reference images for inspiration, but no need if you don’t have any. We’ll discuss your idea, and details like the price and scheduling as you’re ready. No pressure to book an appointment right away, or at all.

  2. When you’re ready to book, I’ll ask for a $100 deposit to reserve a day and time. The deposit will go toward the cost of the tattoo.

  3. When you come in for the appointment, I’ll have the design ready. If there’s any aspect of the design you don’t love, I’ll adjust it right then, to make sure you love it before moving forward. I know this can feel like a lot of pressure, but I’ll make sure we take our time throughout each stage of the appointment, so there won’t be any pressure to just accept what I have created. I draw really quickly and have always been able to make sure every client loves their design before moving on to the tattoo. We’ll take our time experimenting with the stencil placement, adjusting the design further if needed, to ensure it flows perfectly with the body. When everything feels right, we’ll do the tattoo!

Some Tips:

  • Don’t try to cram a bunch of ideas together. A simple iconic image will generally always work better than trying to combine a bunch of stuff into the design.

  • Don’t be too literal. Often people come to me with ideas like wanting all their kids names or birth years written out in text, and I’m happy to do that if you’re sure it’s what you want, but I’d recommend using visual metaphors rather than just writing names, dates etc. For example, if someone wants to commemorate their grandpa, maybe they lived on a lake with canoes. A tattoo of a canoe might work better than text, to commemorate their grandpa in a more abstract but meaningful way.

  • Don’t hesitate to reach out as you’re brainstorming or refining your idea. I am happy to answer questions and help you come up with something, even if all you have is a vague notion of what you want.
